Cancer care app

More clarity around the moving parts of cancer care

MyCareBuddy began with one family’s experience of childhood cancer and recurrence. It is being built to help patients and caregivers organise treatment information, prepare for appointments and stay connected through a shared Care Circle.

Why it helps

Cancer care creates an information workload as well as an emotional one

During treatment, families may be tracking appointments across specialties, medicine changes, side effects to raise, reports to bring and questions that appear between visits.

MyCareBuddy is designed to make that workload more manageable. It provides organisation and informational support only; decisions about symptoms, medicines and treatment always belong with the qualified care team.

Prepare for each appointment

Bring relevant records and a short list of questions instead of trying to reconstruct everything in the room.

Keep treatment details visible

Connect medication schedules, appointments, reports and care-team contacts in one organised record.

Stay informed carefully

Read personalised research summaries as a starting point for discussion, never as a treatment recommendation.

A practical starting point

A practical cancer care organiser can help you track

Keep the record focused on the information that helps the next appointment, dose or care conversation go more smoothly.

  • The treatment calendar and where each appointment takes place.
  • Current prescribed medicines, doses and questions about them.
  • Reports, letters and test results you may need to refer to.
  • Topics to raise with the oncologist, nurse, pharmacist or wider team.
  • Who in the family is helping with transport, notes, meals or communication.

MyCareBuddy helps organise and explain information. It does not diagnose, provide urgent help or replace a doctor, pharmacist or other qualified professional.

Questions people ask

Frequently asked questions

Does MyCareBuddy recommend cancer treatments?

No. MyCareBuddy does not diagnose, recommend a treatment or replace oncology advice. It helps organise information and prepare questions for the care team.

Is MyCareBuddy only for cancer?

No. Cancer is where the story began, but the app is designed for serious and chronic care more broadly.

Can a caregiver use the app if the patient cannot?

Yes. A caregiver-managed Care Circle can organise care on behalf of a child, older adult or another person who does not use the app.
