Care app for elderly parents

Help an older parent without carrying every detail alone

MyCareBuddy is a family care coordination app for the everyday work around an elderly parent: appointments, medications, records, care-team contacts and the people helping to keep everything on track.

Why it helps

Family care works better when the information does not live with one person

Caring for an ageing parent often begins gradually: a lift to one appointment, a prescription to collect, a letter to keep safe. It becomes difficult when several relatives help but only one person knows the full picture.

MyCareBuddy is designed for both caregiver-managed care and self-managed care. An older parent can use the app themselves, or a caregiver can maintain the record on their behalf when they cannot or do not want to manage an account.

Share the practical load

Keep the next appointment, current medication list and important contacts visible to invited family members.

Bring the right details

Organise letters, reports, questions and care-team information before a GP, clinic or hospital visit.

Support changing needs

Start with one caregiver and add trusted people as care becomes more involved, without creating separate records.

A practical starting point

When a care app can make family coordination easier

A shared organiser may help when the administrative work is becoming hard to hold in messages, calendars and paper folders.

  • Different relatives take a parent to different appointments.
  • Medication changes are being forwarded through family messages.
  • Letters, test results and care-team numbers are difficult to find quickly.
  • One person is becoming the default source for every update.
  • The parent needs support but should remain part of the shared picture wherever possible.

MyCareBuddy helps organise and explain information. It does not diagnose, provide urgent help or replace a doctor, pharmacist or other qualified professional.

Questions people ask

Frequently asked questions

Can I manage MyCareBuddy for a parent who does not use apps?

Yes. MyCareBuddy supports a caregiver-managed Care Circle for a person who does not have their own account.

Can siblings share the same care information?

The Care Circle is designed so invited caregivers work from one shared record rather than keeping separate copies.

Is this an emergency monitoring service?

No. MyCareBuddy organises care information; it does not monitor a person or provide emergency help. Contact the appropriate emergency service when urgent help is needed.
