Medisafe alternative

MyCareBuddy vs Medisafe

Medisafe is a pill reminder app: it alerts you at each dose time and can tell a “Medfriend” when you miss one. MyCareBuddy shares the whole care record with the people who help: medications and today’s doses, appointments, documents and symptoms.

Choose Medisafe if…

  • Remembering pills is the main problem, and you want an alarm on your phone
  • You want a relative alerted automatically when a dose is missed
  • You want drug interaction checks (offered in the US, in English)
  • You need the app in a language other than English or French

Choose MyCareBuddy if…

  • Several people share the care and need the same medication list and today’s doses
  • Medications are only part of it: appointments, letters and results belong in the same place

Questions people ask

Frequently asked questions

Does MyCareBuddy send pill alarms like Medisafe?

MyCareBuddy sends email reminders at dose times and before a medication runs out, and shows today’s doses for everyone in the Care Circle to tick off. If a loud alarm on the patient’s own phone matters most, Medisafe is built around that.

Can a caregiver see whether a dose was taken?

Yes. Whoever gives a dose ticks it off, and everyone in the Care Circle sees it on the same list. A mistake can be corrected within 12 hours.

Is MyCareBuddy free?

No. It is a subscription for the whole Care Circle, with a 7-day free trial; the price is in the table above. Outside the US, Medisafe also needs a subscription once its 14-day trial ends.
